3.7　Joint Box and Splice Jacket Examination

3.7.1　While examining the joint box and splice jacket of optical fiber cables，the following requirements shall be met:

1　The joint box shall be well-shaped，and the plastic ware shall be evenly-colored，without any defects such as burrs，bubbles，cracks，holes，bending and impurities；metal ware shall be smooth，evenly-colored，well-painted or well-coated；

2　Accessories and special tools，instructions，product conformity certificates and packing lists shall be complete and effective.

3.7.2　Splice jacket of plastic cables shall meet the following requirements:

1　For the Jacket of plastic cables，its surface shall be smooth and scar-free，its material thickness shall be even，and its fittings and accessories shall be complete and effective.

2　For the heat-shrinkable sleeve，the surface of main plastic ware shall be smooth，evenly-colored，without anybubble，pore，scar or crack；the surface ofmetal accessories shall be free from any burrs or rusts；and the rubber and other sealing material shall be free from any visualable impurities.

3　Adhesive surface of heat-shrinkable sleeve，injection bar of PVC sleeve，and sealing tape or other sealing parts for assembling shall be protected against moisture and dust.Temperature indication shall be shown on the surface of heat-shrinkable materials.
