ABSTRACT
Using data from a SMEs survey in Xi'an in 2009, this book analyzes the structure of formal and informal social networks, by which the network structures at individual, clique, and whole group levels in SMEs were demonstrated. And then shows the effects of social network structure on individual performance. This book analyzes the different characteristics and indices of social networks of SEMs' employees in individual, clique, and whole group levels. This book shows the effects of individual, clique, and whole group levels of formal and informal network structures on individual performance in SEMs. This book provides a new view to recognize the characteristics of interaction relations and social networks of SEMs' employees. Also this book gives some theoretical and practical suggestions to improve SMEs' organization structure and development. The findings carry many important implications for the promotion and reform of formal and informal organizational structures in SMEs, which might be a good way to enhance organizational performance by increasing employees' individual performance.
