Your own project

What can you get out of this chapter? If you are currently implementing SAP Business ONE, or are planning to implement it in the future, the next section will help you understand the overall scope for an entry-level configuration. You see, I like to put things into perspective. The essential configuration steps touch many different areas. The reason for this is that the system is integrated and all features are connected in some way.

You may use the questions I introduced in Chapter 1 to identify the areas in your business that are disconnected and may benefit from better integration. It may be a good idea to prepare a piece of paper and write down the main processes of your business. Organize the processes into sections such as sales, service, purchasing, warehousing, and inventory. You may also add processes for web sales, serial number management, and other custom functionality that you have. As mentioned before, the most powerful aspect of our implementation toolset is asking the right questions. As you go through the implementation steps, you may write down questions about your business as they come up. For example, you may ask what our sales stages are. Use the questions I provided as a starting point, but attempt to ask questions that address the disconnected areas specific to your business.
