5.9 Steelmaking Area
5.9.1 The steelmaking shop shall be arranged near the blast furnace so long as the requirement of such production processes as hot metal ladle wagon organization,hot metal pretreatment,slag removal,etc.are met and its future development is not affected.
5.9.2 The auxiliary raw material receiving facility of the converter steelmaking shop shall be arranged in the raw material incoming direction.If the lime is sent directly from the lime calcination shop to the steelmaking shop via belt conveyer,it should share the belt conveyer with the auxiliary raw material receiving facility.
5.9.3 Steelmaking shop,continuous casting shop and the rolling shop which receives the billet or slab shall be arranged in combination wherever possible.
5.9.4 Scrap storage,handling and blending processes of EAF steelmaking shop shall be arranged in a centralized way and immediately adjacent to EAF bay,and if possible,the said processes and EAF bay shall be arranged in combination.If some molten iron needs be charged in the electric arc furnace,interference between the hot metal transportation and scrap transportation shall be avoided.
5.9.5 Scrap cutting room,drop hammer room and scrap storage yard should be arranged in a centralized way.
5.9.6 The drop hammer room must be provided with enclosure structure to protect scrap from flying apart.The scrap blasting device shall be arranged in the safe area close to boundary of the plant where there are sparse people.Safety distance between the scrap blasting device and other buildings shall be larger than 150m,and in addition,necessary safety measures shall be adopted.
5.9.7 Steel slag treatment facility of the steelmaking shop should be arranged at windward side of the main building of the shop in terms of the wind direction of the least frequency in normal year,and shall enjoy convenient transportation condition.
5.9.8 The blower station,circulation water system and the sludge treatment facility for gas dedusting,cleaning and recovery facility shall be arranged near the objects they serve in accordance with the process flow.
