Chapter Ⅱ Graduate Admissions
【Content Summary】
The main content of this chapter consists of three parts. The first part is to clarify the concept of graduate admissions, to determine the two most important concepts of“Graduate Admissions Scheme”and“Graduate Admissions Examination”, and to comb the main development process of graduate admissions in China. The second part is to analyze the organizational structure of the graduate admissions management system in China, and to describe the specific management structure of the admissions scheme and admissions examination. The third part is to explain the admissions objectives, scheme and process of master's and doctoral degrees respectively. A case of a college in Beijing is shown to present the whole process of graduate admissions.

研究生招生是招生单位按照一定的标准、通过一定的程序，从考生中选拔符合要求者，录取其到本单位攻读研究生的过程。我国自1978年恢复研究生招生以来，经历了招生规模的快速扩张和选拔过程的不断完善，现在已基本形成了较为成熟的招生制度体系。受到多种因素的影响，国内整个社会对“招生”的重视程度都远远高于国外，因此对研究生招生的学习和研究，是对我国研究生教育进行深度观察和深入理解必不可少的内容。
本章从我国研究生招生的重要概念、发展历程出发，从组织架构、管理体制视角进行剖析，分别对博士和硕士两个层次的招生实务进行细节展现，由抽象到具体、由概念到实务、由宏观到微观，全面阐释研究生招生的内涵。
