1.Even in the overcrowded United Kingdom there are large tracts of open unspoiled country, where people with more traditional tastes can go for quiet, and for the sense of freedom they derive from contact with nature. (Line 1, Para. 2)

[解析]句子的主干为...there are large tracts of open unspoiled country。Even in the overcrowded United Kingdom为状语,where引导一个定语从句,其中的for quiet和for the sense of freedom是两个并列成分,they derive from contact with nature为后置定语修饰freedom。

2.Along the coasts of some of the maritime(近海的)counties, public pathways have been created; these paths stretch for many miles along cliffs that look out on the Atlantic Ocean or the English Channel. (Line 6, Para. 2)

前面一个句子的主干为public pathways have been created,句首的Along the coasts of some of the maritime counties为状语。后面句子的主干为these paths stretch for many miles, along cliffs一直到句末也是作状语,其中又包含一个that引导的定语从句。

1.H flocked

2.I hazardous

3.L packed

4.A broke

5.K nightmare

6.G enormously

7.O traditional

8.F derive

9.D considerable

分析句子结构可知,此处空格所在的结构often of...interest与前面的of the greatest beauty and wildness是并列成分,共同修饰前面的名词landscape。

10.N stretch
