“Preface to the Imperially Commissioned Illustrations of Agriculture and Sericulture” This page and the following five pages are the calligraphy work by Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. In this preface, the emperor expresses his empathy for the hardworking rural populations and the reason why he had the album published – demonstrating his emphasis on promoting agriculture and sericulture.
