Foreword

I met Dr. Jian-Kang Xiao during 2015 and 2016 when he visited Heriot-Watt University at Edinburgh, UK, as a visiting scholar collaborating with me on research into planar RF circuits design. His newly authorized book on Planar Circuits is timely for an increasing demand of this type of circuit for RF/microwave applications. The book is well organized into chapters offering a comprehensive treatment of RF/microwave planar circuits ranging from fundamental theories to practical designs. The book will be most useful to students and researchers of the subject.
