Li Junru is former vice president of the School of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), researcher, doctoral supervisor, recipient of a special allowance from the State Council, member of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC),member of the Standing Committee of the 11th CPPCC National Committee, and member of the Advisory Committee and leading expert on scientific socialism for the Marxist Theory Research and Development Project.
Li has long been a researcher into the intellectual history of adapting Marxism to China's context. He has published the 18-volume Works of Li Junru, including the Mao Zedong research trilogy - Mao Zedong and Modern China, Mao Zedong and Contemporary China, and Mao Zedong and Post-Mao China - which won the 11th China Book Prize in 1998. He has published several hundred research papers, including “Deng Xiaoping's Theory on Governing the Country”.
Li won the 2nd Award for the Top 100 Promoters of China's Development in 2005,the UNAIDS Award for Outstanding Contributions to the AIDS Response in 2008, and the Australian Golden Kangaroo Award in 2008. He was also named Scholar of the Year 2017 to receive the Influencing China Award set up by China Newsweek.
Luo Jianbo, director, professor and doctoral supervisor of the Diplomacy Research Center at the Central Party School's Institute for International Strategic Studies, is now a leading expert of the Central Party School National Think Tank. His long-term research interests include China's diplomatic theory and strategy, national security, soft power and national image, and China's governance experience.
Luo has hosted three projects for the National Social Sciences Fund and more than 20 projects commissioned by the CPC Central Committee or the State Council. He has published academic works, including Major-Country Diplomacy with Distinctive Chinese Features. He has also authored more than 100 research papers.
