6　HSM Indications

All diseases where heat-sensitized acupoints exist, regardless if they are due to heat,cold, deficiency or excess, are indications for HSM.

HSM is particularly effective in the following diseases: osteoarthritis of the knee,myofascial pain, cervical spondylosis, prolapsed lumbar intervertebral disc, common cold,facial paralysis, functional dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, male sexual dysfunction,dysmenorrhea, chronic pelvic inflammation, allergic rhinitis, bronchial asthma and ischemic stroke.
