About the Editor
Shi-Yong Yang is a professor at the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (ICCAS), Beijing, China. He obtained his PhD from Nankai University, Tianjin, China, in 1988, his MS degree from ICCAS in 1985, and his BS degree from Lanzhou University, Lanzhou, China in 1982. From 1988 to 1992, he was an assistant professor at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai, China. After spending more than 4 years (March 1992–May 1996) as a postdoc at The University of New York at Buffalo and The University of Chicago, he joined the ICCAS as associate professor in 1996 and professor in 1998 and was the Director of the Laboratory of Advanced Polymer Materials, ICCAS, from December 2002 to May 2017. His research interests have been focused on the development of advanced polyimide materials, including the polyimide films for electrical insulating and microelectronic packaging applications, thermoset polyimide matrix resins of high-temperature carbon fiber composites, polyimide coatings for microelectronic manufacturing and packaging applications, polyimide super engineering plastics, and polyimide foams for aerospace and aviation applications, etc. He has filed and owned more than 100 patents in China, published more than 200 papers, and given more than 50 keynote speeches and invited talks.
