Chapter 3
The Tremendous Night-Star Elephant Cave

Now this cave was tremendous as what the old man had said!

It was made of dark crystal rocks, and glittered like big bright stars in the night sky. It was beautifully dazzling inside. It was shaped like an elephant. “This cave is incredibly designed!” Likee and Salizie cried.

The elephant's tail was a long slide leading all the way to the ground, so you could then go out of the little trapdoor that led outside. All the main furniture was in the body of the elephant, and at the beginning of the nose was the door, but it was a little bit high, so you would have to jump up to go inside.

Salizie started exploring the cave to see if it was safe or not. The gigantic ears puffed out like balloons and there were soft blankets on it, so that they made a nice bed.

The furniture was prepared everywhere, as if they had already known their arrival. Likee thought everything in front of her was so fantastic.

It was foretold that furniture there would change and appear brand-new just the right size for the newcomers that were going to live in there. However, nobody would go live here in such a far, lost place. And, humans lived in houses, not caves.

In the center was a brown food storage box, beside it was a pink round refrigerator.

Salizie and Likee felt a bit tired after exploring. They both decided to go hunting, for they couldn't rely only on the pot. They had to survive using their own courage and diligence.

Salizie flew into the air to look for the meaty food first. If she found it, she would chirp three times. Then, Likee would hear it and come quickly to hunt the delicious food. But everyone should know that Salizie, a sparrow doesn't eat meat, so she would go looking for seeds and worms after Likee was finished. They worked perfectly in a team like this, happily enjoying the wonderful time together.

Seven days passed in a flash.

Unluckily, in these few days, Salizie's free time outside alone got longer and longer, and came back later and later. Likee always wondered what Salizie was thinking, what she was doing, and what she was up to.

The storage box was usually full with fresh meat, all different kinds, plus a little bit of seeds for Salizie. But on the tenth day, Likee barely had any fresh meat to eat! Oh god! All those left in the box were seeds, worms and many different kinds of berries. Almost only berries, worms and seeds, even for Likee!

On the tenth day, Likee saw Salize lazily climbed down from her puffy elephant ear bed, she yawned, then slid down the tail slowly.

“Yep, to find some more rotten food!” Likee muttered angrily. She sighed very loudly, so loud that Salizie even turned back to see what was wrong. Soon, Salizie had waddled away.

Likee leapt out of her bed and down the slide that led to the floor. Then she plopped on the big brown soft sheep fur sofa, lying down, and turned on the brand-new television. Today, she would be watching a program about male and female birds: how they get togethei. Likee wanted to learn more about Salizie, and Salizie was a bird. As Likee watched, she felt a weird feeling prickling in her heart.

Salizie has a boyfriend? Would she leave me then? Likee shuddered at the thought.

That night, Salizie did not come back to go hunting. Likee was hungry. She decided to go hunting herself. But then, she started to cry. She missed her parents, but if she went back now, they would be hibernating, she needed to hibernate too. She smelled the flowers, and of course, she grew herself in the pot and smelled them every day to make herself feel better.

Then, she went out to look for Salizie. Likee padded slowly outside about one hundred meters, but then she felt dizzy, her eyelids dropped, and she fell down. Bears have to hibernate. At once, Likee started dreaming, she dreamed of her most special dream...
