1."3+X" Agricultural Specialty Industries

With its rich resource endowment, Shaanxi has made solid progress in promoting the "3+X"Agricultural Specialty Industries. "3" refers to vigorous development of three industries, including the fruit industry represented by apples, the animal husbandry represented by dairy goats, and the facility agriculture represented by greenhouse cultivation, all of which are of hundreds of billions output value."X" means making local specialty industries better and stronger in line with local conditions, such as konjac, Chinese medicinal materials, walnuts, red dates, and organic, selenium-enriched and forest-related products. Great achievements have been made in "3+X"Agricultural Specialty Industries in the past three years. An advantageous industrial belt of apples covering ten million mu has been formed on the Loess Plateau, with a total apple output of 11.85 million tons. As for kiwifruit, the world's largest production area has been built at the northern foot of the Qinling Mountains, covering an area of 920,000 mu, with a total output of 1.15 million tons, accounting for almost 1/3 of the world's total. The total number of dairy goats in stock in Shaanxi Province reaches 2.8 million, ranking the first in the world. The amount of Goat dairy products takes up 85% of the domestic market share, ranking first in terms of the production and sale volumes. Shaanxi has the largest dairy goat breeding base and goat milk processing base in China. The facility agriculture in Shaanxi Province ranks sixth in the country and first in the Northwest in scale, totaling 3.62 million mu. As such, the province's self-sufficiency rate of off-season vegetables rose to 70%. Shaanxi's local specialty"X" industries have formed a pattern of "small sectors with large clusters" and "small industries with wide coverage". The tea industry is now a pillar for farmers in Southern Shaanxi to increase their income, along with the rapid development in konjac and agaric industries. All these have made great contributions to getting locals out of poverty and increasing farmers' income.

2.Cultural Tourism

In 2020, Confronted with severe challenges posed by the pandemic, the whole province attentively implemented the decisions made by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and made coordinated efforts to respond to Covid-19 and advance economic and social development. Focusing on the goal of building a leading cultural province, the people's growing expectation for a better life, and the needs for a high-quality development, Shaanxi has made unremitting efforts to improve policy planning, deepen the reform of the cultural system, cultivate and expand new growth points and poles, and accelerate the improvement of quality supply of cultural services and products, so as to deliver positive results in the high-quality development of the cultural industry.

The number of cultural enterprises above designated size in Shaanxi reached 1,570, an increase of 26 to that at the end of 2019, with a year-on-year growth of 1.7%. The revenue reached 103.36 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase rate of 3.5%, which is 1.3 percentage points more than the national average. We continued to implement the "Ten-Hundred-Thousand Project" of the cultural industry, and identified a number of key cultural industrial parks (bases) and cultural enterprises. Xi'an Qujiang Cultural Industry Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. has been awarded "Top 30 National Cultural Enterprises" for nine consecutive years. Three's Company has been listed on the main board of Shanghai Stock Exchange. Two enterprises, Yeahmobi and Ronshin have launched initial public offering and are going to be listed on the GEM board.

Movies, TV series, dramas, and literary works created and issued by Shaanxi Province have won many awards. Among them the movie "My People, My Country" has won "Hundred Flowers Award"," Golden Rooster Award " and "Jinlu Award". The TV series "The Story of Yang Shihong" won the Flying Apsaras Award and was nominated for China TV Golden Eagle Award. The TV series "National Spirit" was nominated for China TV Golden Eagle Award. The TV series "No One Should be Left in Poverty" won the Chinese Cultural Communication Award in the Chinese American Film Festival and Chinese American TV Festival. The movie "Catching the Breeze" won the National Cultural Contribution Award. The children's play "We Are the Terracotta Warriors" was enlisted into 17 projects funded by China National Arts Fund. The modern Qin opera "Changes in the Homeland" and the Huagu opera "The Responsibility" were enlisted in the 67 outstanding stage art plays for poverty alleviation in China. The Qin opera "Li Bai's Second Journey to Chang'an" was selected for the online performance of 33 grass roots opera troupes in China. The movies"My People, My Homeland", "The Sacrifice", "Coffee or Tea? ", "Huang Wenxiu", and "The Blue Defensive Line" came to the screen all over China. The TV series "No One Should be Left in Poverty", "Zhuang Tai", "Pioneering Times" and "The Qin Empire" have become the hit on CCTV, together with the cartoon movies "Imperial Mausoleums" and "Memory Yan'an City", and the documentary "Westward Movement". Altogether five works of Shaanxi, i.e. the movie"Zhou Enlai Returned to Yan'an", the TV series "The Striving Story of the Fengyuan Village", the drama"World of Plainness", the song "The Journey", and the novel "The Queen of Shaanxi Opera" were selected as outstanding pieces in the 15th Spiritual Civilization Project of Five Top Project Award.

The prosperous cultural undertakings have created a favorable environment and laid a solid foundation for the development of the cultural industry. In 2020, we established 8 national cultural industry demonstration parks (bases) and identified 32 parks of the provincial level.

Shaanxi is a major province for tourism, with abundant tourism resources and powerful comprehensive reception capacity. Tourism industry is an important economic drive in Shaanxi Province.

During the 13th Five-Year Plan, Shaanxi newly exploited four 5A scenic spots, five state-level tourism model areas and one national tourist resort. Special emphasis was given to developing rural tourism. We took the lead in formulating "The Construction Standards of Tourism Villages and Towns", and 34 villages were listed into the key rural tourism villages of the whole country. Besides, 821 major tourism construction projects were completed in 2020, with an investment of 84.71 billion yuan. Shaanxi received 357 million domestic and international tourists, and the total tourism income amounted to 276.555 billion yuan. Tourists are becoming increasingly satisfied.

At present, among the best tourist resorts in Shaanxi are: Xi'an ancient city, attractions in Lintong, ancient temples in Chang'an, Huashan Mountain, imperial mausoleums of the Han and the Tang dynasties, Famen Temple; Hukou Falls of the Yellow River, Mausoleum of the Yellow Emperor, Loess Geomorphy, Yan'an Revolutionary Site, Yulin frontier fortress scenery, the Yellow River scenic area of Weinan, and Qinling Mountains scenic and cultural resorts, etc.
