Tuning parameters
Filesystem tunables, such as block size can play an important role, and the goal is to match the workload I/O size, the GlusterFS volume block size, and the filesystem block size to the same amount.
Typically, 4 K is the most used block size that works for general workloads. For a large number of small files, go for a smaller block size. For big files, aim for a bigger block size, such as 1 M.
