墨西哥總領事　推薦序

It is always a reason for joy to witness an increasing number of hongkongers interested in Mexico, and it is even more encouraging when they become friends and admirers of Mexico along the years. This is the case of the talented traveler, writer and photographer Kam Ling, who has visited my country and shared with the cosmopolitan public of Hong Kong her experiences through photographic exhibitions and more than 25 previous publications. I am honored and thankful to be able to write a few lines to open this new and fascinating material.

Kam's book was finished in 2012, a very meaningful year for Mexico and China, since both are celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between our countries. I trust the appearance of this beautiful book in the Year of the Dragon will also bring blessings to the bilateral relations between Mexico, China and Hong Kong, to the book itself, and to Kam’s projects.

By choosing tourism as the subject of her book, Kam contributes to build a bridge between Mexico and this region. Through these pages, this talented artist provides the reader with a first hint on the beauties of Mexico and encourages to become a traveler to my country.

To talk about tourism in Mexico is to refer to a wide range of colors, tastes, flavors,landscapes and once you go there, lovely memories. Mexico has something for everybody: resorts, culture, adventure, art, ecology, gastronomy (our gastronomy was recently included in the List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO),arts and hospitality. Mexico has 27 cultural and 4 natural sites considered World Heritage,also by UNESCO. Last but not least, Mexico is characterized by the kindness and warmth of its welcoming people.

According to the United Nations World Tourism Organization, Mexico will become the 5th destination for the world with a figure of 40 million visitors in 2018. During the last few years, our government has strongly promoted Mexico as a world-class tourism destination.

I do hope that through this beautiful publication, the reader will feel introduced to my country, and that this book may represent the first step for you to visit the magic of Mexico in the very near future.
