Abstract
This book is to give a brief study on cultural exchange between Champa and Malay World since 15th century. In this book,Champa refers to a kingdom existed from the 2nd to the 19th century,which is located in central and the southern Vietnam now. Also,Champa refers to the Cham people who live in Vietnam and other countries today. The Malay World refers to the Malay cultural and linguistic sphere of influence,covering the archipelago of present-day Indonesia,Malaysia,Singapore,the southernmost part of Thailand,the Philippines,Brunei,East Timor and occasionally New Guinea.
The main contents of this book are as follows:Champa history and culture,historical relationship between Champa and Malay World,cultural exchange between Champa and Malay World in architecture,script,calendar,musical instruments,etc. Besides,the discussion of relocation,integration and identification between Cham people and Malay people is included in this book. The author tries to reconstruct a cultural tie between Champa and Malay World by multi-disciplinary approaches such as methods of history,literature and ethnology,etc.
