5.3 Casting Speed
5.3.1 The casting speed of continuous caster shall be determined by the factors such as strand section，steel grade to be cast，requirement for matching with smelting furnace and metallurgical length of caster.The selection of casting speed shall be in accordance with following regulations:
1 The selected casting speed shall be within the allowable casting speed range of the steel grade to be cast；
2 Matching caster with upstream smelting equipment shall be ensured.
3 The requirement of product mix on production shall be met.
5.3.2 After determining the metallurgical length of caster，the actual production casting speed must be less than the maximum casting speed determined by the metallurgical length of caster.
