4 Arrangement for Piperacks
4.1 Types and Locations of Piperacks
4.1.1 Piperack types should be determined in accordance with plant layout and the following principles:
1 One-end type or straight-through type piperacks may be used for the plant where less equipment is installed;
2 L-shaped,T-shaped or Π-shaped piperacks shall be used as required for the plant where much more equipment is installed;
3 A combination of main piperacks and branch piperacks may be used for multiple process plants.
4.1.2 Plant piperacks may be classified into stand-alone type and longitudinal beam type according to their structural feature,and may be classified into concrete piperacks,steel piperacks and combined piperacks according to their materials.
4.1.3 Piperacks shall be arranged at location for connecting the main equipments in the plant.
4.1.4 Piperacks shall be arranged at proper location in the plant,and should be in parallel with the long side of the plant.
4.1.5 Length of piperacks shall be minimized as possible,and space in piperacks shall be used efficiently.
4.1.6 Arrangement of piperacks shall satisfy the access and fire fighting requirements,and the spacing requirements for underground piping,cable trenches,buildings and structures,and piperacks shall be located away from equipment maintenance areas.
