Foreword

According to the requirements specified in the Plan for Developing Professional Standards in 2008（Document Number：［2008］No.1242）issued by the General Administration Office of National Development and Reform Commission，this Specification is revised by its development team based on wide and intensive investigations and studies made，practices summarized，comments requested as well as references to international standards.

This Specification comprises 13 chapters.

Main technical contents in this Specification include design requirements for layout of piping connected to common equipment，piping on piperacks，sample piping，disposal piping，piping for utilities service，valves，pipe fittings，instrument measuring elements and pipe supports and hangers.

This Specification is revised based on General Rules for Layout Design of Piping in Petrochemical Industry SH 3012-2000，and main revisions including：

—Renamed SH 3012-2000 as the Specification for Design of Metallic Piping Layout in Petrochemical Industry.

—Add Chapter 2：Normative References.

—Add Chapter 4：Layout of Piping on Piperacks.

—Add Chapter 5：Layout of Piping Connected to Common Equipment.

—Add Chapter 6：Layout of Special Piping.

—Incorporated Section 1：Headroom or Buried Depth of Piping and Section 2：Piping Spacing in original Chapter 3 into the new Chapter 3，and incorporated Section 4：Layout of Piping for Liquefied Hydrocarbon Service into the new Chapter 6.

—Adjust Section 5，6 and 7 in original Chapter 3 respectively into new Chapter 7：Layout of Sample Piping，new Chapter 8：Layout of Disposal Piping and new Chapter 9：Layout of Piping for Utilities Service.

—Revised and supplemented contents in related chapters.

The provisions printed in bold type are compulsory（mandatory）and must be enforced strictly.

China Petrochemical Corporation（Sinopec Group）is in charge of the administration of this Specification，Sinopec Technical Center for Piping Design and Engineering is responsible for its routine management，and Sinopec Engineering Incorporation is tasked for explanation of specific technical contents.
