10.4　Selection and Configuration of Transportation Equipment

10.4.1　Transportation equipment of the mine shall be selected according to the following principles:

1　Being advanced，practical，and conforming to the national conditions.

2　Taking overall consideration of the transport volume in the long run and short run，and the matching between train and handling equipment.

3　Not too many types of locomotive and wagon.

4　Making the most of existing equipment in the extention and renovation projects.

10.4.2　Electric locomotive shall be selected for the ore transport locomotive，and in case of restricted conditions steam locomotive may be used.

10.4.3　Self-dump wagon should be used if the wagon is of standard gauge type and for production purpose，and wagons of different tipping approaches should be used for the narrow-gauge railway of which the transport volume is small.Ore wagon to be lifed by cage and wagon for transporting the dressed ore（after beneficiation）should be of the fixed type.

10.4.4　The mine railway system shall be provided with a certain amount of auxiliary wagons，such as platform wagon，uncovered wagon，covered wagon，tank wagon and commute wagon，etc.

10.4.5　The mine railway system shall be provided with some maintenance and track shifting equipment.
