Chapter 4 Development and Revisions of the Diagnosis and Treatment Plan of Corona Virus Disease 2019

Since December 2019, there has been an outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia in Wuhan, Hubei. As the epidemic spread, such cases(officially named as COVID-19)have also been reported outside Wuhan, and cases unrelated to Wuhan have also been found. Based on the continuously in-depth understanding of the disease, National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China has released six editions of the Diagnosis and Treatment Plan of Corona Virus Disease 2019 continuously from January 15th to February 19th, 2020, in order to further strengthen the early detection and treatment of cases, to improve the treatment ability, and to reduce hospital infection risk as much as possible at the same time. The clinical manifestations and case definitions have been refined, the diagnostic process has been optimized, and clinical management of cases is more scientific.
