Ordinal Numbers

In set theory, an ordinal number, or just ordinal, is the order type of a well-ordered set, such as 1st,2nd,3rd,4th etc. They are usually identified with hereditarily transitive sets. Ordinals are extension of the natural numbers different from integers and from cardinals. Like other kinds of numbers, ordinals can be added, multiplied.


A. Listen carefully and write down the ordinal numbers which are read.

For example, you will hear“Peter's birthday is on the 16th of July”and you should write down the number“16th”on the blank.

3. The little boy won the(6th,8th)prize in the chess competition.
