Executive Summary
In recent years, with the improvement of economic and social development and health services in China, residents’ per capita life expectancy has increased year by year, health status and nutrition level kept improving, and great achievements have been made in prevention and control of diseases. Meanwhile, aging population, quickened urbanization and industrialization course and unhealthy lifestyle, etc. also exert influences on people’s health, and new changes have occurred to residents’ nutrition and chronic disease conditions. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out deep analysis and research.
This report was mainly based on the latest data from monitoring surveys carried out by the CDC, NCCD, NCC and other organizations (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan),combining with demographic basic data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) etc., and comprehensively using methods of systematic evaluation, complex weighing and meta-analysis of multi-center and multi-source data, etc, which analyzed Chinese residents’ main nutrition and chronic disease conditions as reported below.
