17 SNOW-FLAKES
CHILD: Little white feathers
Filling the air—
Little white feathers!
How came you there?
SNOW-FLAKES: We came from the cloud-birds,
Flying so high,
Shaking their white wings
Up in the sky.
CHILD: Little white feathers,
Swiftly you go!
Little white snow-flakes,
I love you so!
SNOW-FLAKES: We are swift because
We have work to do;
But look up at us,
And we will kiss you.
