特指一个人想干哈干哈,想去哪去哪,因为他/她没结婚或者没有家庭婚姻的责任需要承担。

想当年笔者还是意气风发的少年,刚来英国读书住在学院分配的古色古香的Holywell Manor 公寓里。当时还不太明白看门的老头Talyor望着我说我是footloose and fancy-free的深意,等到我自己结了婚才明白自由是多么宝贵,呜呜,香菇啊。



起源:

源自于威廉·莎士比亚在约1590年—1596年间创作的浪漫喜剧“仲夏夜之梦”(A Midsummer Night's Dream)。
