连系动词除了be以外，还有appear, become, feel, grow, look, seem, smell, sound, taste, turn等。如：
A good book is a light to the soul．一本好书，照亮心灵。
Even children of the same mother look different．即使同一个母亲的孩子看起来也不一样。
