The “3rd Forum on Cultural Industries (Macao)” was jointly hosted by the Chinese Cultural Exchange Association, the Institute for Cultural Industries of Peking University and the Cultural and Creative Industries Teaching and Research Center of the Macao Polytechnic University in 2017. The forum is organized with the theme of “Community Economy and Creativity Creation”. With the support of the community, the topics of modern technology and community culture were explored. We invite experts in different fields to share their ideas and seek to use the development of community as another engine to propel the local economy. The community culture can be revitalized by connecting the traditional culture of the community with the creativity of the community. Thus the local economy can be further promoted.
The Forum on Cultural Industries (Macao) was established in 2015. It aims to promote the development of Macao's cultural industry towards the goal that the economy in the Macao SAR should be developed in a moderately diversified way. They share their experience in the development of advanced regions in the cultural industry and jointly discuss the direction of developing the cultural industries in Macao.
The association has compiled and published the papers of keynote speakers, experts, scholars and young students from the past two sessions of the Forum, both at home and abroad,in a series of articles:Regional Synergy and Platform Innovation-2015 Macao Cultural Industries Report and “ The Belt and Road”Initiative and Opportunities for Macao Cultural Industries-2016 Macao Cultural Industries Report. The latter focuses on the local Macao perspective, taking advantage of the unique geographical, cultural and historic elements of Macao in search of strategies for the note for Macao in “The Belt and Road” initiative to launch new potential markets, attract and nurture creative talents.
With all the support and assistance, the Association has gathered the highlights of the forum in 2017 into the report:Community Economy and Creativity Creation-2017 Macao Cultural Industry Report. This report is divided into three parts:“Special Report”,“Forum Highlights” and “Research Report”,which include contributions from experts and scholars participating in the conference. The articles and presentations cover a wide range of areas with brilliant content. From the perspective of community industry and creativity, they discuss how to activate Macao's local cultural resources, geographical advantages, develop community space, build social resources, expand the hinterland of cultural industries, and adopt new scientific and technological means to promote the formation of a unique regional brand in Macao and to draw inspiration for the future development of Macao's cultural and creative industries.
