Career

In 1972, Steve Wozniak designed his own version of the classic video game Pong. After finishing it, Wozniak gave the board to Jobs, who then took the game down to Atari, Inc. In 1976, Wozniak single-handedly(单独地)invented the Apple I computer. Wozniak, Jobs and Ronald Wayne formed Apple Computer in the garage of Jobs' parents. Wayne stayed only a short time, leaving Jobs and Wozniak as the active primary cofounders of the company.

After a power struggle with the board of directors, Jobs left Apple and founded NeXT, a computer platform(讲台)development company specializing in the higher-education and business markets. Jobs returned to Apple as an advisor and took control of the company as an interim CEO. Jobs brought Apple from nearly bankruptcy(破产)to profitability by 1998.

You can't connect the dots looking forward. You can only connect them looking backwards, so you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something—your gut, destiny, life, karma(因果报应), whatever—because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence(信心)to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well-worn path and that will make all the difference.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma(教条), which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice, and most important, have the courage to follow heart and intuition(直觉). They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
